Description:

The Electrician will be responsible for ensuring product that has been remanufactured by The Advantage Group is in compliance with the original manufacturer’s specification and the appropriate industry electrical codes. This person will be responsible for evaluating the status of equipment to be remanufactured, and provide recommendations for parts to be replaced and required re-wiring or updates to be in conformance with modern electrical codes and good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities:

• Correctly use and maintain the tools of the trade including power tools, hand tools, test equipment and measuring instruments.
• Install all types of commonly used wire and wiring accessories.
• Locate and repair faults in electrical wiring systems.
• Identify different types of cables and wires.
• Read and interpret simple electrical specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams, wiring and circuit diagrams and building plans.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
• Complete daily progress and timesheet.
• Coordinate activities with co-workers as required.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Assist other shop personnel as requested.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Maintain material supply adhering to minimum/maximum stocking levels. Follow replenish procedures.
• Participate in applicable corrective and preventive actions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years working as an Electrician – preferably in the appliance industry, familiarity with HVAC a plus!
• Valid NYS Electrician License
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and enterprise business systems
• Great attention to detail, high quality awareness and keep work area neat and organized
• Teamwork orientated
• Highly motivated, task oriented
